The work I do begins with a project.

Most people don't come to me because they need more ideas.

They come because something important already exists—but it's tangled, stalled, or not coming together the way they hoped.

Sometimes it's a business.

Sometimes it's a website.

Sometimes it's a book, a nonprofit initiative, a workshop, a career decision, or a message that matters.

Whatever the project, we work on it together.

I've spent decades helping people create things in the real world—in advertising, software, small business, leadership, creative work, and nonprofits.

I've been inside startups, corporations, family businesses, and organizations trying to figure out what comes next.

That experience taught me something.

Projects rarely fail because people aren't smart enough.

They usually stall because too many competing ideas, expectations, and assumptions get in the way.

Helping people move projects forward is the work I love.

Together we clarify what matters, work through what's in the way, and determine the best next steps.

Sometimes we change direction.

Sometimes we simplify.
Sometimes we discover what the project has been asking for all along.
Something solid.

The Refinery isn't a course or a framework.

It's a place to think well—and, when the project calls for it, shape and build it together.

Bring me your project.
