About Robin Holland

Everything I teach, I had to learn the long way.

If your brand feels tired, unclear, or not quite you, the real issue usually isn’t the branding. It’s the alignment underneath it.

I know because I ignored that truth in my own work for too long.

So I paused everything, refined from the inside out, and brought myself back into resonance. After years of helping other people shape their brands, I turned the process on myself — tuning voice, message, rhythm, and direction until everything clicked again.

That’s the heart of The Refinery: a creative atelier where entrepreneurs come to sharpen what’s real and strip away what’s not — a straightforward, spacious place to return to your true signal.

My path here runs through LucasArts, Y&R, FCB, Fisher MountainBikes, and co-founding Totally Games — a long, winding education in storytelling, creative leadership, and integrity in the work. I’ve always been a miner: finding what’s real, refining it into clarity, and shaping it until it shines.

Today, I guide creatives and business owners as they rediscover what feels true, refine their message, and bring depth back into what they’re building.

I live in Santa Cruz with my favorite human (a birder/game developer) and our labradoodle, Zoe, who keeps us laughing.

Our grown daughters roam the world collecting stories, languages, and recipes — and we do our best to keep up.

If you’re sensing it’s time to refresh what you’re creating — from the inside out — let’s talk.

Previously: LucasArts, Y&R, FCB, Fisher MountainBikes, Totally Games — and dozens of independent founders tuning their true signal.
